Nursery Project

When we found out we were expecting, we knew we needed to transform one of the rooms in our house into the nursery. We decided on our spare bedroom—formerly my husband’s office—and turned it into a cozy and functional nursery! After planning, a bit of DIY work, and some careful decor choices, the room came together beautifully. I am in love with how it turned out and can't wait to hold our baby girl in here soon! Keep on reading to see how I transformed this space and find links to all the furniture and decor I used at the bottom!

The first step was clearing out the room entirely, which meant moving my husband’s office setup to a different space in the house. Here is the room before we started with mostly everything cleared out:

Once the room was empty, I started on the main design feature: picture frame molding. I wanted something to accent the walls but still be subtle. I think this detail helped the room feel a lot bigger too.
I started by measuring the walls, sketching out a rough plan for the molding layout, and then cut and attached each piece using Loctite Power Grab adhesive with a few brad nails for extra hold. Once all the molding was in place, I filled the nail holes and caulked the seams to give it a seamless, built-in look.

With the molding finished, it was time to paint. I chose Sherwin Williams Gorgeous White, a beautiful soft beige with the palest pink undertones—perfect for creating a warm, neutral backdrop for the nursery. I love that it gives off subtle pink vibes without being too bold and overpowering the room.

Once the paint dried, we moved on to furnishing the space and adding some decor! For the main furniture pieces, I chose a crib, dresser, and glider from Wayfair. To add warmth and texture, I got a rug, curtains, and curtain rod from Amazon. For lighting, we found a great lamp at TJMaxx/HomeGoods, and the final touches—wall art and decorative accessories—came from At Home.

I love the creamier white color of this dresser and the brass knobs! The main reason I chose this dresser though is because of the height and width. I plan to use this as our changing table and the dimensions played a big part in deciding which piece to choose.
This might be my favorite thing in the nursery! I am obsessed with this glider. It comes in multiple colors and they have a larger sized version of it too. It is SO comfy and I love that it has a power recline feature.
I can't find a link to the exact lamp I bought. I found it at Homegoods/TJ – but the link is to a lamp I found that looks very similar and same price range!
Wall Art & Decor:
I found this cute jewelry stand and decided to use this to hang some of her bows and other accessories on!
I loved putting this space together and can’t wait to bring our little one home to her new room! Let me know if you have any questions about the process or products we used.
